I didn't post anything about the Youth Convocation this year. I was too busy.

Anyway. I have been enjoying my vacation with my husband and my children.

I have a big contract to begin working on when I get back home. It's so crazy. My secretary called me while I was here. She has never done that before.

Life is good because God is good.

Well, I am off to the beach.

Still Trying to Get An Event Day

I got all kinds of phone calls last night from my babies asking if they could meet me in Sheldyville. I can't believe I gave in. I went ahead and got 6 plane tickets and then booked an extra hotel room. I am such a softie. Everyone (Hobert, Treasure, Gaile, Braisha, Marcelle, and Kiylan) should be in Sheldyville on tomorrow night.

I am still talking to Eld. Hayesforth about going to the amusement park. He thinks that people will be upset if they have to miss a day of classes. I don't think anyone will, especially not the young folk. I am going to ask MaClandon to create a poll and ask for everyone's opinion on the matter.

I called Bishop Adkins to ask his opinion on the amusement park. I had to leave him a message.

I am excited about this Convocation.

Moping, Excitement, and Plane Tickets

I did more with the hotels today. I had added a few more to the list.

I talked to Evg. Williams, my husband, for awhile today. I was so lonely. I was moping around and everything.

Marcelle and I went to lunch. She had to drag me out of the room because I didn't really want to leave the hotel today. Marcelle called him while we were at the restaurant and made me talk to him. We only talked for a few minutes. I called him again once I got back to the hotel.

He is getting ready for school to end. They get out on June 1st. He said that they have been acting crazy. He works at a private school in Oxford. The kids love him.

I called the Adventure Zone, the amusement park in Sheldyville. The guy I talked to almost had a fit when he heard how many people we could possibly bring to the park. He was very willing to work with us. Eld. Hayesforth and I are supposed to go to the amusement park and look around when we get to Sheldyville. (Get this, my husband and my babies are trying to come down her for the weekend and go to the amusement park.) I told my husband and Kiylan. Kiylan told the other girls. I got three phone calls right after that. Marcelle says that I could take her with me since we are already together here in Quinton. (I got a feeling that I will be calling my agency and trying to get six more plane tickets to Sheldyville.)

I called The Grand Adventure, the water park in Sheldyville. They were pretty excited about the possibility of us having an event there.

I couldn't get in contact with the Sheldyville Zoo. I am going to try them later.

In Quinton

I made it to Quinton. Marcelle met me at the airport. She talked forever. It was like we hadn't even seen each other a few days earlier at the Women's Convocation. I can't remember what she talked about.

I met with Eld. Hayesforth. We talked about the Convocation. I am still trying to convince him to do an event during the Convocation. They have an amusement park, a water park and a zoo. The museums in Sheldyville are great. Everyone enjoyed the Zoo Day, so I am hoping that we can do another event. I am not sure that he is doing to go for it. I will keep trying.

I am still trying to figure out why I am going to be down here for four days straight. I can't do much here in Quinton. I have been making phone calls to hotels in Sheldyville. Dawn has been calling me with information on hotels left and right. I should have her work on the hotels every year. We are going to have a lot of hotels in Sheldyville.

You all have got to come to the Convocation. It is going to be good. I am expecting over 60,000 people to come. I checked with Greg. He said that we have over 500 people registered so far.

Most of the young people in my family are coming. There will be over 300 of my family members there. This is the first time that my family has come to the Convocation. I am excited. I think I am going to have to go to Wyman and take my families registration information directly to Greg.

I have posted some new hotels on the hotels page. I will be checking out some more later on.

To Work

The Women's Convocation was great. I enjoyed it.

As you can already tell, I got to work early on the Youth Convocation.

I have found several hotels in the city already thanks to some help from Sis. Dawn McLean from Pine Grove Church. She volunteered to help with locating hotels.

Evg. Janee McGuire from Pentecostal Light Church volunteered to host and help with the Youth Picnic. The church will be selling snow cones at the picnic.

Remnant of Christ Church will be hosting the Courtesy Car Drivers meeting in Sheldyville, thanks to Sis. Melonie Henderson. She has volunteered to coordinate that endeavor.

Sis. Brynn Sorensen volunteered to be our hosts as we travel to the city of Sheldyville. Her husband is Rev. Rolland Sorensen of Rev. Rolland Sorensen Ministries.

I will be flying to Quinton on tomorrow to meet with Eld. Hayesforth. We will fly to Sheldyville on Saturday.

Courtesy Car Drivers

We are in need of courtesy car drivers.

(This year we will need people who are willing to travel up to 20 miles out from the convention center.)

If you would like to drive the delegates of the 2007 Youth Convocation around, please email us at: youth.courtesycar@gbfellowship.info . You will receive information and the criteria to be a courtesy car driver.

We need lots of drivers this year. We are expecting at least 60,000 delegates to the convocation.

The Wedding

My wedding is scheduled for Saturday, 9/30. I am so nervous. I have went over everything like 500 times this week. I have lost like 5 pounds. I don't think my dress is going to fit.

My Birthday

My birthday was great. It started off crazy and I am going to have to hurt a couple of people.

At 5:00 am yesterday morning, there was a knock on my door. MariBeth and I both walked out of our rooms and looked at each other like we were crazy. MariBeth was dressed better than I was, so she went to the door. I went back into the room.

A few minutes later, I heard her say, "Girl, this is some craziness. Why folk ringing your door? Come here." I walked into the livingroom and Hobert is standing in my livingroom with a big bouquet of roses. I am in my pjs, a robe, and my head rag. I wanted to pass out. MariBeth was laughing her head off. I wanted to disappear.

Hobert asked me if I wanted to go to breakfast. I asked, "Can I change clothes or do you want me to go like this?" He and MariBeth kept laughing when I went back into the room.

Hobert and I went to breakfast at my favorite restaraunt. I am still trying to figure out how he knew where my favorite restaraunt was.

After breakfast, we drove by to go see my cousin, Misty. Our brithday is on the same day. I gave her a present.

We went to the office after leaving Misty. Hobert decided to make an announcement... "I hope you all can live without KiKi today, because she is going to be with me for the rest of the day." Everyone was more than happy to get rid of me.

Hobert and I went over to my parents' house. I found out that they had a hand in Hobert sneaking into town for my birthday. My father grabbed Hobert and they went off into another part of the house. My mother drug me into the kitchen to give me my birthday present, which is the same every year. She gave me a four layer chocolate cake. (I still have the cake from last year.)

We finally left my parents' house and we went back to my apartment. We watched a couple of movies and then went to lunch.

At lunch, Hobert gave me my birthday. It was a bracelet that I had looked at during the Youth Convocation in Noble Valley. I almost had a fit. Hobert was smiling like crazy.

We went to see my Aunt-T after lunch. She almost talked us to death.

We went to the movies and to get something to eat afterwards. It was cool.

I had a great birthday.

I tried to get out of planning the youth back-to-school revival. The youth pastor went to pastor. Now, I am really upset. I can't believe ole boy went to pastor on me.

I asked Hobert if he would do the revival. He said yea as long as his friend Eld. Hollings could help him out.

MariBeth is mad at me because I told her that I didn't want to do it. She went off on me. I an not even sure why she went off on me. She left the house mad at me. Oh well.

This is a great way to start off the day before my birthday.

Back-2-School Revival

The Back-2-School Revival has been set-up and coordinated for my church. It is going to be held on 8/28/06 through 9/4/06. Hobert and Toby are going to run it. It's for 8 days and they each are going to do four days.

My pastor had to talk to me because apparently, I had an attitude when I was helping the youth minister, Min. Pearson Williams, III. I didn't think I did, but I could have.

I talked to Hobert and Toby, they are both excited about the revival. Things should good.

Family Reunion's Over

Back From Vacation

I am back from vacation. I had a good time and all kinds of visitors.

MariBeth and the girls were there with me for the first week.

Hobert and his friend, Eld. Toby Hollings, came to Maddocha Beach to visit me. That was fun.

Well, it's back to the normal life that I am use to.

It's Over!

The Convocation is over. I got everyone checked out and gone from the hotel.

Kiylan is mad at me as usual because I let Treasure, Gaile, Braisha, and Marcelle go to the beach with me for vacation. I told her that she can come once she turns 17, but she still gets mad. I don't know why she gets upset because she ends up spending two weeks with me after I get back from vacation every year.

I am so glad that the Convocation is over. I will not be posting again until after I get back from vacation in two weeks.

Zoo Day

The zoo was fun today. Kiylan decided to dress me for the zoo. She wanted to make sure that I was dressed casually. Although her and the girls tried to take everything that I put on. I think I may not leave Noble Valley with all of my clothing.

I hung out with Hobert and the girls. MariBeth and AD hung with us for while before they went off by themselves.

It was fun.

Last Post For Awhile

I had some time in between the picnic and the musical. I may not be able to post anymore this week.

The picnic was fun. I was there long enough to see Kiylan trying to dunk Hobert in the dunking booth. I don't think anyone dunked Hobert.

I tried to take a nap, but I was too excited to sleep. I am about to get ready for the musical.

One Big Happy Family

Why did Gaile, Braisha, Marcelle, and Kiylan show up at my hotel room at 8:00 this morning?

They wanted to meet Hobert and hang out with me.

When Hobert got there, he was meet by four girls staring him in the face. They grilled him for about 15 minutes before he shot me a look to rescue him. I did.

We all headed to church as if we were one big family.

Church was good. Everyone at Hobert's church was excited about meeting the girls. All of them were getting on my nerves, truth be told.

Kiylan is going around calling Hobert daddy. I am gonna get that girl.

My Babies

My babies, as MariBeth calls them checked into the hotel today. My babies are: Treasure, Gaile, Braisha, Marcelle, and Kiylan.

It was crazy down at the desk. Yet again, Treasure booked the room in her name with her credit card and she was getting in until Monday. I had to go down to the desk and get Gaile, Braisha, and Marcelle checked in. I have told Treasure to stop doing that. She just doesn't listen.

How I Meet My Babies

Kiylan: She is 13 years old trying to be 20 something like the rest of the girls. I met her two years ago when she and her mother were having problems checking into the hotel. I helped them get checked in. I had on a bracelet and Kiylan told me that she liked it. I gave her the bracelet. One night, she was supposed to be in the Youth service, but she was walking around the convention center. One of the security men caught her and some of her friends walking around. I was outside walking around and she spotted me. She told the security officer that I was her mother and she was coming to meet me. Oddly enough, I helped her get out of trouble. I told her to tell her mother what she did. I think she might have gotten a whipping.

After that night, she kept hanging around me and calling me Mama.

Treasure, Gaile, Braisha, and Marcelle: They are all 20 something years old. I met them three years ago. They had the same problem that they always have. Treasure had booked the room in her name and with her credit card. The girls couldn't get checked in. I helped them get checked in. They all started hanging around me after that. They don't call me Mama like Kiylan, but they tend to imply it from time to time.

This is the weird thing, they all call MariBeth, Aunt MariBeth.

P.S. 2007 - They are too excited about their new father. They call him more than they call me. It is going to be interesting this year @ the Convocation.

At The Park

Hobert & I went to the park so that I could get a look at it. It was a nice park.

While we were there, some of his former students showed up at the park. It was crazy. They all ran over to Hobert and had a fit. He ended up playing around with them.

I have to admit, I got upset that he ignored me for more than an hour. I sat out in the hot sun. After awhile, I told him that I was ready to go. He seemed upset about it, but I was hot and tired.

We Talked For Awhile

When Hobert drove us back to the hotel, he let MariBeth out at the hotel and asked me to go with him to park the car. MariBeth acted a fool about it, of course.

Hobert and I sat in his car and talked for close to 20 minutes; about a lot of stuff, about a bunch of nothing, about silly stuff, about serious stuff.

We talked about the convocation. He had a lot to say about it, too...
"I think the convocations have gotten better each year that you have been coordinating the convocation. I think you are an asset to the GBF Fellowship and most definitely an asset to the Youth Ministry. I don't think you should quit the convocation. I don't want you to quit the convocation. It would be a travesty and a disservice to the Youth Ministry if you quit. I believe the convocations would go down if you quit. I may not be in the position to ask you to do this, but I am doing it. Nobody asked me to do this either. I have been watching when you were in your meetings. You are good at what you do. It's amazing to watch you do what you do. You seem happy when you are doing your thang. You can't quit right now. As far as ole girl that's always on your case, let me worry about her. You just do your thang and I will take care of her."

I listened to him closely. He was serious and sincere. He almost convinced me not to quit.

Hobert walked me to my hotel room. MariBeth gave me an earful when I got to the room. After I told her what Hobert and I talked about she calmed down. She ended up agreeing with Hobert. She doesn't want me to quit either.

Hello Pastor

I couldn't get out of meeting Hobert's pastor. After the meeting, I tried to get Eld. Hollings to drive MariBeth and I to the hotel, but he said that Hobert was going to drive us back to the hotel. Some lady had cornered MariBeth and was talking to her. I was left without any chance of escaping.

Hobert finally came and got me. He walked me to his pastor's office. I didn't even realize that his pastor had been in the meeting with us. Hobert introduced us and that was that. We spent over 40 minutes in the pastor's office. I am not even sure what was said while we were in there. I mostly listened as the two of them talked. Before we left the office, Eld. Jeffrey King asked, "Are you really going to quit after this convocation?" I didn't answer him.

The Courtesy Car Driver Meeting

The meeting was good. Everyone brought the information that they needed to bring. Everyone was willing to work within the parameters that we had set up. It was so cool. I think Hobert had a little something to do with that, but I can't prove it.

The people had some excellent questions. One of the younger guys asked me, "Do you have any sisters as fine as you?" I laughed and said, "No, I have two brothers."

We had over 90 people sign up to be courtesy car drivers. That's great.

In Noble Valley - How Many People I Gotta Meet?

We made it to Noble Valley. I spent most of the flight mad about my car. Hobert spent most of the flight quiet. MariBeth spent most of the flight trying to cheer the both of us up.

MariBeth and I checked into the hotel. I had time to change to go to the meeting with the courtesy drivers at Lighthouse Church. I was supposed to meet Hobert's pastor, but I wasn't really in the mood. I was hoping that I could get out of meeting him.

Eld. Hollings came and picked MariBeth and I up. I asked him why Hobert didn't come pick us up, but he never did tell me. I had planned on asking Hobert if I could meet his pastor some other time. Oh well, so much for that.

We got to the church at 7:00 PM. There were some ladies setting up for the meeting. They had cakes, cookies, and pies set up on a table. There were drinks on another table. It was an awesome spread. One of the ladies walked up to me and hugged me. She said, "You must be KiKi." I just looked at her. MariBeth said, "She doesn't have any home training. She is KiKi White and I am MariBeth Lewis. How are you doing?" The lady hugged MariBeth and said, "I'm fine. I am Sis. Strong. Glad to have you ladies here with us tonight." Sis. Strong went over to a group of ladies and started talking to them and pointing in MariBeth and my direction. MariBeth leaned over to me and said, "I wonder what they are saying about you." I just shook my head.

Someone came up behind me and said, "BOO!" I turned and it was Hobert. He was smiling. He grabbed me by the hand and started taking me around the room and introducing me to everyone in sight. I hope he wasn't expecting me to remember anyone's name. I think everyone that I was introduced to gave me a hug.

Thankfully, I didn't get to meet Hobert's pastor before the meeting. I wasn't in the mood.

I Can't Believe This

Last night, I let Hobert drive my car to the hotel. Well, someone keyed my car up and wrote on it with a permanent marker. I can't believe it. I am so upset. Hobert felt bad, too. I had to try to convince him that I wasn't mad at him. I got a pretty good idea who did it. This is a trip.

My father took the car to the shop to get it fixed. It will be waiting on me when I get back from vacation.

I Felt Something

I leave today to go to Noble Valley for two weeks. Well, MariBeth is going with me, too. Before we left Oxford, we all went to my parents' house for breakfast. My mother insisted. She said, "I won't be seeing my girls for a month. I need spend some time with you all before you all leave me here with all these men." My father talked to Hobert most of the morning. I couldn't even get 5 minutes with either of them. God grief.

When I did get Hobert away from my father, I took him up to the attic to show him my old play chest. I used to play dress up a lot when I was younger. I used to make my brother's play with me, too. I looked through the chest. I can't believe that my mother has kept that thang all these years. We tried on the outfits for awhile. He actually looked handsome in one of my father's old hats that I had in the chest.

Quick Confession

I have been suppressing my feelings for Hobert. Every time, I felt something, I would brush it out of my mind. I don't want to be ready to feel what I felt for that nut (my EX). On Saturday, my Aunt-T told me to quit being scared to feel something for men. She also asked me how long I was going to let one idiot ruin the rest of my life. I told myself that I wasn't going to be scared anymore.

I watched Hobert try to imitate my father as he tried on the outfits from my play chest. He was funny, but he couldn't imitate my father as good as MariBeth could. I just stared at Hobert and let myself feel something for him. It caught me off guard because I felt something. I didn't even try to stop it. I just let myself feel. Before I realized what was happening, tears were coming from my eyes. When Hobert realized I was crying, he came over to me and hugged me. I lay in his arms and cried for awhile. He never asked me why I was crying. That was fine with me, too. I didn't want to try to explain it to him.

This is going to be okay.

A Whole Day about Me

Today, Hobert, MariBeth, and AD went to church with me. That was cool. When I walked into the church, Sis. Tony told me that the pastor wanted to see me. I was dreading that.

When I walked into Eld. Greedson's office he made a face at me. He said, "I am your pastor, and you didn't think to tell me about ole boy." I didn't even get to respond. He fussed at me for a little while. He asked, "When do I get to meet him?" I said, "Whenever you want to. He's out in the congregation." Eld. Greedson stood up and said, "Why didn't you bring him back here with you?" I said, "Sis. Tony said that you wanted to see me. She didn't say anything about anybody else." Eld. Greedson told me to go get Evg. Williams.

The meeting went fine, which was good.

After church, we went and got something to eat. After that, MariBeth and AD went to my place. I showed Hobert around Oxford.

I still can't believe that I showed him our family cemetery and the pecan tree. (That's another story for another time.) I have never taken anyone there, not even MariBeth. I must like him.

I showed him some of the family businesses. That was going good until we got to the grocery store that one of my cousins' is part owner of. Why was my cousin standing out there talking to my EX? They wouldn't have noticed us, but I have vanity license plates, so my car is easily recognized. My cousin flagged me down and made us stop. Hobert smiled and said that everything was going to be okay, but I didn't believe. I can't stand my EX. I use to hate him.

My cousin introduced Hobert to Parrish. Parrish had the nerve to ask me for a hug. I wouldn't hug his trifling behind for anything. Parrish said something evil to Hobert. Hobert politely answered him back. Parrish said something else. Hobert ended the whole conversation when he told Parrish that he was going to be around for a long time.

We left. Why did my cousin call everyone that he could think of and tell them what happened?

Hobert and I had been driving around for awhile before he asked me what happened with Parrish. I didn't even want to tell him about that. He told me that I could tell him whenever I felt like it. I love that about Hobert. He doesn't pressure or bug me about stuff. I can't stand it when people do that. Just leave me alone until I want to talk about things. When we got back to my apartment, I told Hobert about Parrish.

About Parrish

I met him my senior year in high school. His grandmother lives in Fontaine. He was visiting her for the summer before he went off to college. He was handsome, with long eyelashes, curly hair, and a million dollar smile. I fell head over heels in love with him the first time I met him. His voice was silky smooth, too. We dated that whole summer. It was fun. I am such an over achiever. I have to do everything better than everyone else, that included being in love. He went to school. He came back the next summer. We picked up where we left off, that next summer. My cousin was and is friends with Parrish. He had told me that Parrish had slept with a girl while he was at college. I asked Parrish. He told me that it wasn't true. My cousin had no proof, so I didn't believe my cousin. I still don't know if Parrish slept with someone else or not.

We dated the whole summer, again. We went to our separate schools, but vowed to be a couple while we were away at school. We came back to Fontaine that next summer. We dated again. This time things were getting serious. Parrish started talking about sex. In my family, you don't have sex until after your married. That's what we are taught. Some of us have not lived up to that. Knowing about the family motto on premarital sex didn't stop Parrish from bugging me about sex. He didn't do it the regular way, nope, he gave me flowers and gifts. I am not even into flowers. Never have been, but getting all that stuff from Parrish made me feel special.

During my junior year in college, when I was 20 years old, Parrish proposed to me without a ring. I said yes. He took me to a jewelry store and showed me the ring that he was going to buy me, when he got enough money. I never did get that ring. During the summer of 2000, let's just say that I gave into temptation. It was the most horrible experience I have ever had. Parrish was all talk. I gave into temptation again because Parrish asked for a second chance to show me that he wasn't as bad as he was the first time. The second time was even worst than the first time. Oddly enough, I never told anyone how bad Parrish was until like six months later.

Three months after the second encounter, Parrish told me that he didn't want to see me anymore. I was so heartbroken that I cried for like a week. My father and brothers wanted to go after Parrish, but I told them not to. It wasn't until three months later that I told them they could do whatever they wanted to with Parrish.

Parrish had been going around telling everyone that I was stalking him and calling him. Anyone that knows me knows when you tell me something is over, I get rid of every reminder of that person, place, or thing. I wasn't even thinking about his trifling behind. The stuff Parrish was saying kept on going and going. It got so bad that one of my mother's friends said something to her about it.

I am not sure what my father and brothers did to Parrish, but the rumors stopped and things quieted down.

I swore off men after that. I have only been on three or four dates since 2000. I went on those because MariBeth made me. I went and got some counseling to help me deal with how much I hated Parrish. I didn't want to project any of my issues stemming from dealing with him on anyone else.

Hobert didn't even trip when I told him the whole story about my EX. He didn't even trip on me when I cried. It felt good telling him about it, too. All Hobert said was, "All I ask is that you give me a chance to be me and not judge me based on what ole boy did to you. I am not him and I will never do anything like that to you."

We went on with our tour. I showed him the Bethel Street Baptist Church. That's the church that one of my ancestors started. The church has been around since the 1800s.

We went to dinner with AD and MariBeth. She almost fell out when she found out that I had told Hobert the whole story about Parrish and that I had cried.

My Crazy Family

Today was cool. I showed Hobert (BKA "H") around Fontaine. I showed him a couple of the family businesses. I also showed him the office in Oxford. I had to go in and make those phone calls. He watched me talk on the phone. He and MariBeth kept making faces at me. I heard him say, "That girl is good at what she does. I bet she could charm the spots off a leopard." MariBeth laughed like crazy.

My uncle Terrance had arranged a BBQ on his farm in Fontaine for Saturday. How he got it arranged so quickly, I don't know? Evg. Williams was going to meet most of my family on his first day in Oxford. My family is crazy.

Evg. Williams met the members of m family that was at the BBQ. It was a whole bunch of them there. Everyone seemed to like him. It was going good until my cousin JC decided to mention my EX and have a long conversation about how he had mistreated me.

I'll have to talk about that later.

AD finally made it to the BBQ. MariBeth almost ran out to him until my Aunt-T (that's what we call her) told MariBeth to play hard to get. Aunt-T said, "Let him come in here and get you." My Aunt-T swears that she knows everything there is to know about men, how to get them, and how to keep them.

Hobert ended up playing dominoes with my cousins. My cousin DJ had claimed Hobert as his partner. They were whipping everyone that they played. Hobert was being a good winner. DJ was acting a fool and gloating. They played my father and my uncle Terrance. I can't believe it, but they beat my father and uncle. That's history right there. My father and uncle have never been beaten.

All in all, my family liked Hobert. My uncle even showed him around the farm. My uncle doesn't do that too often.

I have got to stop making friends that everyone in my family likes.

A Flight Plan

My father and mother were over my house forever. I had to tell them that I had to go to the office to get them to leave.

They were talking to MariBeth most of the time. Sometimes, I think they forget that I am their daughter and that MariBeth isn't. Oh well.

I spent most of the time sulking in my room because I was mad that I was missing Evg. Williams. That's why I didn't want to talk to him on the phone.

My daddy came in the room and asked what was wrong. I told him. My father said, "Well, get the boy a flight down here. We want to meet him anyway. He will probably be glad to come down here to be with you." I just shook my head.

MariBeth and I finally got to the office. I had a stack of papers on my desk. Apparently, the person I left in charge was having a hard time dealing with some of the vendors that we use. I gotta come in on Saturday and make some phone calls. Ugh.

I was going through the stacks of papers when MariBeth asked, "Are you going to get Hobert a flight down here?" I looked up at her like she was crazy. I said, "What sense does that make, to get him a flight down here for two days when we are going to be back in Noble Valley on Monday?" She laughed and said, "Love, don't make no sense." I threw a piece of paper at her and said, "Who said anything about love?" She laughed. I said, "I'll get him a flight down here, if you call AD and tell him to come down here, too." She gave me a crazy look and said, "Ok." I was hoping that she would say no.

She grabbed her cell phone and called AD so quickly, that my head was spinning. I called Evg. Williams. His voice was so happy when I told him that it was me. I asked him if I got him a flight, could he get to the airport. He sounded so excited that I thought he was going to come through the phone.

He's on his way down here. I even managed to get him a seat on the flight that MariBeth and I are on when we go back to Noble Valley.

At Home in Oxford

Why was my father waiting at my house when I got home? I didn't even have time to get out of the car good before my father rolled up to the car and said, "Who is Hobert Williams? Why don't I know him? Why didn't you tell me you were involved in him?" Before I could answer my father, MariBeth started instigating. She gets on my nerves.

Well, when I got into the house, finally, my father went on a tangent for 9 minutes. The tangent ended with him telling me to call Evg. Williams on my cell phone. I didn't want to do it because I had said that I wasn't going to do that. Oh well.

Apparently, when Evg. Williams answered the phone, he said something like… "I thought we weren't going to call each other lovely." Because my father said, "My name isn't Lovely! It's Tommy White. Mr. White if you know what is good for you."

The two of them ended up talking on the phone for close to 30 minutes. That's all I need, is for my father to be best friends with my boyfriend. My father has always had good relationships with my friends. MariBeth talks to and sees my parents more than I do.

While my father was on the phone with Evg. Williams, my mother was grilling me. She was grilling me, but MariBeth was answering all the questions.

Is he handsome? He's cute, but he looks like a nerd in his glasses.

What does he do for a living? He's a school teacher. He teaches 4th grade.

Where are his people from? I don't know.

It went on and on like that for awhile. I never answered one question.

When my father got off the phone, he handed it to me and said, "He wants to talk to you." I made a face. I hadn't planned on thinking about Evg. Williams all weekend.

Him: Hey Lovely.
Me: Hey. We aren't supposed to be talking to each other.
Him: I know, but I'm glad that we are talking to each other.
Me: Uhh huh.
Him: I guess you are ready to get off the phone.
Me: Yes. See you on Monday.
Him: (Laughter.) Okay, unless I see you before then.

We both said bye and hung up.

Leaving Today

We are leaving Noble Valley today. MariBeth and I are going to Oxford. Eld. Hayesforth is going to Quinton. It doesn't make any sense that MariBeth and I leave, we will just turn around and be back here on Monday.

I met with all of the hotel managers today. We met at the Chamber of Commerce. I know that Allen Washington at the COC is tired of me. The hotel managers were told about the number of people that will be coming into the city of Monday and Tuesday of next week. They promised to make things easy for the delegates. That's cool. Talking to the hotel managers in the city was my idea, too.

We had lunch with Evg. Williams and Eld. Hollings before we left. Out of all the times I have been to Noble Valley and left, this is the first time that I actually thought about missing Evg. Williams. I guess it is actually real because it is out in the open.

Get This...

I asked (ok told) Evg. Williams not to think about me on this weekend. I also told him not to call me. I said that I would do the same thing. I figure it will be easier on us if we don't communicate while I am in Oxford. At least I hope that's the case. I will be back in Noble Valley in 3 days.

Conversation...

Eld. Hayesforth and I had a conversation today. It left me feeling good and bad at the same time.

The Good Part:
Eld. Hayesforth said that I had done a good job on the Convocation. He even said that the convocation has been better every since I became the coordinator. He asked me to not quit. I don't know about that.

The Bad Part:
He also told me that he was disappointed in me because I didn't trust him enough to tell him that I was involved with Evg. Williams. I wasn't sure how to explain it to him. He said that I should have told him. I don't know about that either.

How do I get myself in these messes?

I figured I might as well get this out of the way. It is probably going to get me killed by every important person in my life.

Evg. Hobert Williams and I are a couple. Although I got to know him during the course of coordinating the Convocation in Noble Valley, we had met before at other Convocations. I am usually so busy at the convocations that I never notice anyone, which was the case here.

I wanted to keep our relationship a secret until after the Convocation because of exactly what happened. Evg. Williams wanted to tell everyone, but I didn't. Blame me for that.

Anyway, I wouldn't have had to tell anyone, except that Evg. Williams told Eld. Hayesforth. MariBeth, Evg. Williams, Eld. Toby Hollings (a friend of Evg. Williams), and I were in the hotel room watching a movie. (Ya'll, please don't read anything into that.) Eld. Hayesforth kept coming to the room, knocking on the door. I have no idea why he was doing that. Eld. Hollings got upset and wanted to go say something to Eld. Hayesforth. I kept everyone not to worry about it. Finally, Evg. Williams got tired and went and talk to Eld Hayesforth. Evg. Williams told Eld. Hayesforth that we were in a relationship.

Eld Hayesforth called me out into the hallway and asked me if it was true. I told him that it was. That was that. Needless to say, Eld Hayesforth is mad at me. MariBeth is mad at me. I hadn't even told her and she is my bestfriend. She can't hold water sometimes.

I was mad at Evg. Williams for awhile because he took it upon himself to tell Eld Hayesforth about us. To which, Evg. Williams said, "We shouldn't have tried to keep things secret. Somebody would have found eventually. I am glad it's out now." He said something else, but I ain't telling ya'll what it was.

Hopefully, now, folk will leave me alone.

4th Of July Picnic

The Men's Ministry of the Lighthouse Church in Noble Valley will be hosting a 4th of July Picnic. More information can be found here.

They will be selling food, drinks, and more. There will be prizes given. They will also have games.

In Noble Valley

We (Eld. Hayesforth, MariBeth, and I) are in Noble Valley. MariBeth went to the zoo with one of Evg. Williams' friend. I got stuck in a suit and some high heels talking to business people. I don't like her right now. :)

The meeting at the Chamber of Commerce went well. After hearing some many of the delegates complain about there never being enough restaurants open after the convocations, I decided to meet with the business people of each city that we are in, so that they will know what is going on. It has been successful since I started doing it. A number of the other convocation coordinators started doing the same thing.

While we were driving back to the hotel, Evg. Williams and I were discussing the picnic that his church is hosting on the 4th of July for the delegates of the convocation. Some of the money will be donated to the GBF Youth Ministry. Well, I haggled with Evg. Williams until I had gotten a bigger percentage for the Youth Ministry. He said, "I can't believe you are gonna get your man in trouble with his pastor like that." I almost fell out. He was not supposed to say that. That's a whole other story.

Convocation Update

Registration is up from last year.  We have already reached 10,000 registered guests.  That is excellent.

Don't forget that the early registration deadline is this Friday, June 23, 2006.
Registration will go up by $5.00 after Friday.

Zoo Day
We are going to have an excellent day at the zoo.  It seems like everyone who is registering is purchasing tickets.

It Ain't Over, Yet

Bishop Adkins called me at 11:00 AM this morning. I meet with him and Eld. Hayesforth at 1:00 PM.

Lest, I bore you with the details, here's the general scheme of things.

Bishop told me that I couldn't quit until after the convocation was over. He said that he expected me to do my best. (I always do my best.)
He told Eld. Hayesforth that they needed to meet with Sis. B to find out what her problem was with me.
According to Eld. Hayesforth, Sis. B just doesn't like me.
Eld. Hayesforth apologized to me.
Bishop Adkins made me apologize to Eld. Hayesforth. (I still don't think I had anything to apologize for.)

That was that.

I am on my way to Noble Valley tomorrow with Eld. Hayesforth and MariBeth. It is going to be interesting because Evg. Williams is going to pick us up from the airport. MariBeth is already being messy.

It's Over?

I'm sorry I didn't write yesterday.  I just didn't feel like it.  Here's a synopsis of what happened.

MariBeth and I got to Quinton and hour late because the plane was delayed.  I am not sure what happened.  Someone from Eld. Hayesforth's church was supposed to pick us up, but they let the airport before the plane got there.  MariBeth decided that we should rent a car, which we did.  (One of these days, I am going to stop listening to MariBeth; she always gets me into trouble.)  After we got the car, which she insisted on driving, she decided to go site seeing.  We ended up getting to Eld. Hayesforth's office two and a half hours late.  He went off on me, in front of MariBeth.  It took everything that I had in me to keep that girl from telling him off.  She would have too.  I didn't even care at that point.  Apparently, MariBeth's spirit jumped into me, because I was the one who acted a fool.

I took the binder from my bag that has everything for the convocation in it and slammed it on his desk.  I stood up and said, "Eld. Hayesforth, I have planned this convocation faithfully for the past four years.  Each year it has gotten better.  I have done it because I like doing.  Folks have accused me of trying to seduce men, being a lesbian, and sleeping with some of everybody.  You have believed these lies, knowing full well that I am not like that.  I tell you what, why don't you get someone else to do this job?  I have had enough.  Goodbye."

I left the office with MariBeth.  We got in the car and headed for the airport.  MariBeth was having a fit when we got to the car.  "Girl, I can't believe you just told that nut off.  That was so good.  You are my girl after all.  Oh my goodness."

My phone rung forever, it was Eld. Hayesforth.  I didn't answer it.  I went to the airline desk and got on standby to go back home.

Bishop Adkins called me.  I didn't answer the phone the first time he called me.

Me:  Hello, Bishop.
Bishop:  Hello, Sis. White.  I understand that you threw the convocation stuff at Eld. Hayesforth and told him that you quit.
(I had to shake my head on that one.  Folk sure can lie.)
Me:  No sir, I didn't throw anything at him.  I slammed it down on the desk.
(MariBeth yelled at me asking who threw what at somebody.)
Bishop:  Sis. White, you can't quit two weeks before the convocation.
Me:  Eld. Hayesforth shouldn't believe the lies of an old hag because she gives money to the ministry either, but he does, and I did.
(MariBeth asked me who I was talking to.  When I told her who it was, she fell out, after she told me that I was in trouble.)
Bishop:  Where are you at?
Me:  I am sitting at the airport waiting to go back home.
Bishop:  Can you stay in Quinton until I get there tomorrow?
Me:  No sir, I am going home.
Bishop:  Sis. White, I asking you to stay there?
Me:  The only way I am going to stay in Quinton is if you order me to do it!
MariBeth:  Girl, we are gonna end up in hell behind you talking to the Bishop all crazy.
Me:  Shut up, MariBeth.
MariBeth:  Oh, you are mad.
Bishop:  Are you really going to make me order you to stay in Quinton?
Me:  Yes sir.
Bishop:  Fine then, Sis. White, I am ordering you to stay in Quinton until tomorrow.
Me:  Uhh huh.
Bishop:  We will work this out tomorrow.
Me:  If you say so.
Bishop:  Try to calm down, Sis. White.  I will see you tomorrow.  Goodbye.
Me:  Uhh huh.
I hung up the phone.

I looked at MariBeth and said, "Come on, we need to get a hotel room.  We are staying here until tomorrow."  MariBeth grabbed her stuff and said, "Girl, you are gonna get put out of the Greater Buelahland Fellowship."  I said, "Good then I won't have to fool with ignant behind niggas anymore.

Leaving For Quinton on Tuesday

I am going to Quinton on Tuesday to meet with Eld. Hayesforth. We were supposed to talk about the Convocation, but he will probably end up running me down behind that mess. I am tempted to call him and tell him that I ain't coming down there. I am not in the mood to hear any of his crap. I gotta pray that I don't tell him off.

MariBeth is going with me. I don't even know why I asked her to come with me. Maybe I just don't want to be down there by myself. She may just tell ole boy off for me. I am hoping that she does. I know that is wrong. I am so hurt right now.

I am going to resign from this position after this convocation. I am so tired of Sis. B. I like doing this, but it ain't worth it if some crazy woman is going to keep lying on me and to top it off, people are going to keep believing her and they know her track record.

Father's Day!

Man, church was off the hook. Richard preached like he had lost his mind. His church choir sung like crazy. It was amazing. That Baptist church was rocking. It was good.

Dinner was good, too. We had a big spread at Aaron's church. It was all kinds of food there. It was cool seeing all my family members. Everybody was there. There were kids running all over the place. It was cool.

The day was going good until my phone rung. MariBeth was sitting next to me. She told me not to answer it. It was Eld. Hayesforth on the caller ID, so I answered it. I regret doing that. I got told off like crazy.

Apparently, Sis. B (that's what I will call her) read my blog and read about Evg. Williams driving me around and called Eld. Hayesforth and told him that I was in Noble Valley hooking up with some man instead of doing my job. I can't believe that Eld. Hayesforth even believed that bat. After all the lies she has told on me, since I got this position, I don't even know why he believed her. He didn't even ask me if what Sis. B said was true. He just lit into me. Which, that led me to crying after I got off the phone.

MariBeth had been watching me the whole time. When I got off the phone, she rushed over to me. She had a fit when I told her what happened. I had to stop her from going to get my father. He can't stand Sis. B. I went and sat in my car for a few minutes. I had to kick MariBeth out of the car because she kept fussing. I needed some quiet time.

I finally calmed down and went back to the church. I wasn't in a good mood for the rest of the day.

My father asked what was wrong. I didn't tell him. He would have had a fit.

No Wyman Trip

I checked my messages after we got home from hanging out with my father. I had too many messages on the phone. My voicemail was full.

Anyway, I found out that I don't need to go to Wyman after all. I am thankful for that. I am glad that I have people that I can delegate to and they get things accomplished. Thanks Antonia Caldron. I appreciate your help with the advertising.

Father's Daying

Today, my mother, brothers, and I hung out with my father for Father's Day. Tomorrow, we will be doing a big family thing. We do this every year; hang out with my father on Saturday and then do the family thing on Sunday. We are all supposed to go to my Cousin Aaron White's church, Davis Street Baptist Church. I am dreading the service because it can be a bit boring. We go there every year because he is the oldest uncle with a church. It is my Cousin Richard Vaughnn's turn to preach. He pastors Brown Temple COGIC. He is supposed to be bringing his church with him, so the service may be more exciting than I am anticipating.

MariBeth went out to eat with us. Her father lives in Coral Gables. She doesn't get to see him that much, so we let her hang out with us. My father loves it when she hangs out with us. She has him laughing like crazy. It was cool. She is going to church with us tomorrow.

I haven't thought about the Convocation all day. My father told me that I couldn't. He did get upset with me because my phone was ringing like crazy. He took it from me and cut it off. My father is crazy like that. MariBeth didn't help the situation any because she started clapping like crazy when he did that.

Another Day That the Lord Has Kept Me

Well, I made it through today.  It was hectic because I had to go up to the travel agency because a client only wanted to talk to me.  This client can be difficult at times.  Apparently, I am the only person who can handle the client.

I may need a whipping because I have been mischievous.  (SMILE.)

I have been getting calls all day about the ads for the Youth Convocation.  I did not know that many people had my cell phone number.  I am thinking about changing it.  I have been hearing good things about the radio and newspaper ads.  That's good.

People are still calling me and fussing about the hotel rate.  I know I have posted it on the hotel listing that you need to call the hotel directly.  Lord, why won't people read.

People are calling me about being a courtesy car driver.  Why did I have MaClandon Adkins set up an autoresponder, if people are still going to call me?

MariBeth was hanging out with me all day, so after awhile, I handed her my phone and let her answer it.  She is crazier than I am.  You should have heard her telling people that they needed to go to the Youth Convocation website.  I was laughing like crazy.

Eld. Hayesforth called he was upset.  Apparently, someone told him that I was rude to them when they called me.  I asked who the person was, but Eld. Hayesforth wouldn't tell me.  He fussed at me for 5 minutes about being nice.  I held my peace, but it was hard.  MariBeth was laughing at me when I told her about the call.  She thought it was funny.  I didn't because it was probably one of the people that she talked to that complained.

The bright spot of my day was when Evg. Williams called me.  okay, so why did MariBeth talk to Evg. Williams for like 10 minutes before she gave me the phone?  When she handed me the phone, she said, "Girl, your man is on the phone."  She was loud and Evg. Williams heard her say it.  I almost fell out of the chair.  Evg. Williams didn't even say hello.  He said, "When did I become your man?"  I was so embarrassed.  I turned red.  I told Evg. Williams, "You will have to forgive MariBeth; she didn't take her medicine today.  I don't know where she got the idea that you were my man."  Why was MariBeth singing, "But you say he's just a friend.  But you say he's just a friend," all loud where everyone in the office could hear her?

MariBeth acted a fool when I got off the phone with Evg. Williams.  She asked, "Are we going to have our own driver for the convocation?"  I shook my head and said, "You would just love that wouldn't you.  That's all I need is a rumor spreading that I am fooling around with one of the ministers.  Oh Lord."  She kept on talking and trying to convince me to get him to be our driver.  She hates having to find a courtesy car at the convocations.

I will be on the road next week.  I will be in Quinton for two or three days to meet with Eld. Hayesforth.  I will be going to Noble Valley after that to check on some things.  I will be home on Saturday, only to fly back to Noble Valley, to stay there until after the convocation.  Wow, this will be over soon.

Can you believe this, my phone is still ringing?  Going to bed now.

No Rest for the Weary

Why did MariBeth show up at my house just as I lay down?  She wanted to take me to dinner.  I told her that I was tired.  She ended up spending the night over there because we were up talking all night.  We ate a bunch of junk food.  We know we are too old to be doing stuff like that.  We didn't go to bed until after 2:00 AM.  That's why I am sitting up here nodding while I am trying to check emails.

I am getting a lot of responses about being a courtesy car driver.  That's good.  Registration is good.  The numbers are very high.  I am so glad.  They may not let us in the zoo because so many people have been buying tickets.  I am getting excited.

I heard the ad on the radio here in Fontaine.  I can't wait to see the newspaper ad on Sunday.

I got an email from Evg. Williams.  He also emailed me about being a courtesy car driver.  I better not tell MariBeth what I emailed him back.  She will have a fit.

Marcelle wants to come stay with me until the convocation.  I told her that she can't because I am going to be busy.  I think she is upset with me.  I told her that she could come stay with me after the convocation.  I don't think she liked that idea, though.

I may have to go to Wyman to check on the advertising there.  I had someone check on it for me.  I haven't heard from her yet.  I hope she can handle things.  I sure hope she can take care of it for me.  I don't want to have to fly to Wyman.  I don't have to take a flight until Tuesday of next week.  I need to quit stressing.

I am going to get off now.  I need to go make some phone calls.

I am at home. I told MariBeth about Evg. Williams. I don't even like her. She decided to be messy. I am going to learn to keep my mouth shut. Now, she wants to fly to Noble Valley with me the next time I go. That's all I need is for her to get all up in my business.

I went up to the Travel Agency today. Things are going okay. This is a busy time for us since people are booking summer vacations. We have a loyal following of clients, most of which I recruited. I'm going to leave that alone.

I am going to power down for the rest of the day and relax. I so tired.

More Hotels and the Equipment

I found two more hotels in Noble Valley. I will update the list. These are the last two hotels I am going to find. I am going to focus on other things.

I am in Hardaway. I am checking on the equipment that we are going to use at the Convocation. We will be renting a lot of equipment. It will be shipped to Noble Valley on June 30. We will set it up on the following Sunday. That is going to be a trip.

I am thankful that I don't know that many people in Hardaway. I can get in here and get out.

A Normal Person

I had dinner with Evg. Williams. I had a great time. We didn't talk about the Convocation. That was the best thing about the whole evening. It felt good to be a normal person.

I am going to miss Evg. Williams when I leave, which is tomorrow morning. Evg. Williams is going to drive me to the airport. He is a school teacher and he is out of school right, now, which has been a blessing for me. I am going to have to send him a gift for all of his help.

Advertising the Convocation

The advertisement for the convocation will begin running today on radio and in newspapers and magazines all over the state of Maddocha.

The radio ads will run once a day from 6/12 through 6/25. They will run twice a day from 6/26 through 7/2.

The newspaper and magazine ads will run once a week (Sunday) from 6/12 through 6/25. They will run Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6/26 through 7/2.

Be sure to look or listen for the advertisement in your area.

I have been getting calls about the advertisements since early this morning. I heard one of the ads on the radio here in Noble Valley. Yes, I am still here. I am leaving tomorrow morning. I am going to check out two more hotels today.

I am still in Noble Valley. The hotel situation has been worked out. I called all the other hotels to check on the rates and the number of reservations. The hotels are filling up. I may have to look for more hotels. I have three of them in mind that I will check out. I may be in Noble Valley longer than I wanted to.

Evg. Williams said that he would help me with that. Lord, have mercy; I am trying to stay saved.

In Noble Valley

I called Evg. Williams and asked him if he could pick me up from the airport. He said that he would. He met me and took me to breakfast. He said that I looked heated. I was. I still can't believe that the hotel is tripping.

Breakfast good. I actually calmed down.

I went to the hotel and had it out with the current manager of the hotel. This man didn't want to honor the deal. I showed him the contract that I had with the hotel. He refused to honor it. I must have argued with him for 30 minutes. Finally, I got fed up. He looked funny when I got the Vice-President of hotel operations on the phone. The VP of operations told ole boy to honor the contract. He even told ole boy to knock $10 of the rate. I have got to update the hotel listing.

Hotel Problems

I have gotten 12 calls from people complaining about the rates for one of the hotels. Apparently, they are quoting the wrong rate. I can't believe this. I called the hotel. The manager who made the rate agreement with me has quit and now the hotel doesn't want to honor the rate.

I will be flying to Noble Valley on tomorrow. I ain't in the mood for this.

Maybe I can ask Evg. Williams to come pick me up from the airport.

MariBeth called me today. She is like the only person who calls me on my house phone. I actually answered the phone for her. I don't know what we talked about, though. I hope I didn't make any promises.

I slept for most of the day. I think I woke up long enough to eat. I can't even remember what I ate.

Finally Back At Home

I am finally back at home. I didn't post anything on Friday or Saturday. I was too busy running around the city of Noble Valley. It was easy to do because I had a chauffeur driving me everywhere. Big ups to Evg. Hobert Williams, III. He was very nice. He is the Men's Ministry director at Lighthouse Church. He is fine, too.

I overslept and missed church. I got a feeling Eld. Greedson is going to have a fit. He is always telling me to not let my GBF duties get in the way of my church duties. That's funny because I serve as the media ministry secretary and I don't have to do much for the ministry. Don't tell Eld. Greedson I said this because he will try to give me more to do at the church.

I am taking Monday off. I am turning my cell phone off, too.

Off on Another Flight

Well, here's a little about me.

My name is Kiana "KiKi" Kimberly White-Williams. I go by KiKi. Don't call me Kiana or Kimberly. I will get VERY upset, FIGHTING upset. My birthday is in a couple of months (8/16). Can't wait. I am thinking about having a party.

My parents are Tommy White and Katelynn Wiggins-White. I have two brothers; Khristoper and Kevin. I am the only girl and the middle child. I would have fallen into the middle child syndrome, but thankful, I was spoiled rotten because I was the only girl. I have like 81 first cousins. That's a lot of cousins.

I went to Ylaya College. I have Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality and Tourism. While I was in college, I worked for a hotel. I was on my way to going far in the company, but I decided to do the whole travel agency thing. It was a good decision.

I got appointed as the GBF Youth Convocation Coordinator because I overheard Min. Brenton Kazz (B.Kazz) Jones (Young Adult Choir President for GBF) say that he was looking for a hotel for his church's youth choir to stay in. I told him that I could find him an affordable rate. He told Min. Charles Handford (Youth Ministry President for GBF). From then on, I was the coordinator. I need to learn to keep my mouth shut.

I took care of the computer problem at the travel agency. It wasn't that big of a deal. They go crazy for nothing when I am not there.

The travel agency was my idea and my main investment, so I am held accountable for everything. Me and my predisposition for the travel industry. That's what I get for getting a degree in hospitality.

Hectic Day Venting

Today was hectic. I left Noble Valley and flew to Dorinda. I had to go to the GBF headquarters to look at the numbers for registration.

The numbers are good. They are better than they were this time last year. I am glad about that.

My cell phone has been ringing off the hook. Why do people feel the need to call me personally with questions about the Youth Convocation? Oh yea, I am the convocation co-ordinator. I may have to check the hotel listing page and see what it says because people keep calling me asking why they can't get the convocation rate through the phone or web service of the hotels. If I am not mistaken, in bold print, I wrote, YOU WILL HAVE TO CALL THE HOTEL DIRECTLY. I am going to make the print bigger. I am tired of getting angry phone calls. Oh well, let me leave that alone before I get upset.

I had to call 38 people and let them know that I was in Dorinda. I mean, I am flying out in the morning, but that doesn't matter because I still have to call the people that I know in Dorinda. Why do all 38 of them want to have lunch with me? I made 22 of them made when I told them that I couldn't have lunch with them. The other 16 of them understood.

I talked to Bishop Adkins for 30 minutes. I hadn't planned on it, but he was at the GBF office. He walked up when I was telling someone off about reading the information on the website. "Lord, why do I gotta act a fool in front of the presiding bishop?" Bishop was cool. He said, "Sis. White, do I need to have an altar call right here for you?" I said, "Yes sir." He laughed and said, "We can go talk in my office if you want to." I said, "Ok." I was hoping that he was going to tell me that he was going to appoint someone else to the position. (Not really. I like doing the convocation.) He did most of the talking. I felt better after I left his office. I am so embarrassed though, my phone rung 12 times (no exaggeration). I cut it off. Bishop laughed and said, "They are looking for you." I just shook my head.

Nevertheless, I am in my hotel room chilling. I gotta go, my phone is ringing!

Still Rambling

My family owns several businesses in the cities of Fontaine, Oxford, and Freling. If my uncle has his way, we will be in Hearne and New Haverd. My uncle, the family patriarch, is very ambitious. As a matter of fact, all of the men are. My cousin, Misty and I are the only two women of the family that have the same ambition as the men of the family.

Most of us, don't want to leave Oxford just yet. Most of my family lives there or in Fontaine. A few of us live in Freling.
There are a bunch of us.

My grandmother and grandfather had 12 children. Those 12 children had 84 children. I don't even know how many 2nd and 3rd cousins I have. It's a bunch of them.

My father is the odd ball. He got married in his 30s and he only has 3 children. The next lowest number is 5. On top of that, none of his children are married. Almost everyone else's children are married and have children.

Oddly, enough, the married people in the family have only had one marriage. No one has had any children born out of wedlock. In my family, we stay married. It's pretty cool in my family. No one has been to jail. Everyone does relatively well in school (at least a 78 or better). Everyone born after 1955 has went to college and graduated. We all have to go to college. That is a family requirement. After college, we have to go work in one of the family businesses. We have so many businesses in the family that you can find something that you like. I think like only 7 people don't work in the family business. They are teachers and pastors.

Why do we have someone with a degree in almost every field?

MariBeth always messes with me about my family. She always says, "You gotta be too good in your family. She doesn't know how right she is.

Someone from the GBF asked me to look into some hotels for them. I am looking into them. Hopefully, I can get three more hotels for the list.

Thankfully, my family owns a Travel Agency and I am use to doing things like this. I work at the travel agency or the bookstore. I am an investor in both of them. They are doing pretty well.
And none of what I just said has anything to do with new hotels. I will finish this rambling in another entry.

Back At Home

I am back at home. The weekend in Noble Valley went well and things were very positive with the people that I met.

Eld. Hayesforth preached a good message. The service at Charity Pentecostal Church was good, too.

I am happy to be at home.

The Zoo It Is

I talked to Eld. Hayesforth about going to either the water park or the zoo. He said to go with the zoo. He didn't like the idea of having the saints in swimsuits. I almost fell out laughing when he said that.

Well, I went to the Noble Valley Zoo to see if I could set-up GBF day at the zoo. They said that it is doable. We would either have to do it on that Wednesday or Thursday. I got all of the information. I am going to go talk to Eld. Hayesforth.

Things are looking good. Thank the Lord.

I went shopping with Sis. Kirby. It was fun.

Crazy Flight & Some Fun

The flight to Noble Valley was delayed for 2 hours. Eld. Hayesforth was mad. I tried to calm him down, but it didn't help much.

I called Marcelle and asked her to reschedule our appointment with the Noble Valley Convention Center people. She did. It was rescheduled for the afternoon.

We finally made it to Noble Valley. Eld. Hayesforth and I ate lunch and then headed for the Convention Center. I was praying the whole way there. "Lord, please let this go smoothly." Things did. The people at the convention center were willing to accommodate us. I was so happy.

We went to the hotel. I am not sure what Eld. Hayesforth did. I went on a tour of the city with one of the members of Charity Pentecostal Church. It was cool hanging out with her. Thanks Sis. Ashley Kirby, I had fun.

There is a water park and a zoo in Noble Valley. I am contemplating setting up GBF day at one of them. I will talk to Eld. Hayesforth tomorrow to see what he says.

In Quinton

I am in Quinton now. I have been to this city so much that I know where everything is, especially the mall. My girl, Marcelle Bisset met me at the airport. She was happy to see me. She acts as my assistant whenever I come to Quinton. She has been my assistant since she was 16. She is in college now. She is doing well, too. I am so proud of her.

We went and got something to eat and then we went shopping. That girl can shop better than I can. We had more bags than a little bit. We had to stop at the hotel before we went to see Eld. Hayesforth.

Eld. Hayesforth ran off a long, very long list of things that we needed to do. Marcelle gave me a look. I shook my head and smiled. Eld. Hayesforth said, "I know it seems like a lot, but we have to get it done before June." I thought to myself... "It's the middle of May now."

We ended up talking for over an hour.

I am worn out. We leave tomorrow for Noble Valley. We are going to step off the plane and then go straight to work.

Packed & Ready to Go

I am packed and ready to go. I am going to Quinton first and then Eld. Hayesforth and I are flying to Noble Valley on Friday.

We are going to be there until Sunday afternoon. Eld. Hayesforth is supposed to preach at Charity Pentecostal Church in Noble Valley. Eld. George Martin is the pastor.

We have quite a few churches in the GBF all over the state. We are growing every year as well.

Why This Blog?

My bestfriend, MariBeth, is the event co-ordinator for the Women’s Ministry of the Greater Buelahland Fellowship. She thought that it would be a good idea for me to keep a blog of the many things that I have to do for the Youth Convocation, so I wouldn’t go crazy as I have in years past. (Just kidding about going crazy.)

It seems like a good idea, so far. Although, I haven’t done that much work so far. I will begin my trek on Thursday, when I travel to Noble Valley. I will be there over the weekend.

Time to Get to Work

I am back from the Women’s Convocation. It was awesome. I may tell you more about that later.

I am getting ready to fly to Quinton to work with Eld. Michael Hayesforth, III. He is the president of the Youth Convocation.

MaClandon Adkins has redesigned the website. It is awesome. You should check it out.

People have already started sending in their registrations. I am glad. Usually, folk wait until the end of the registration period and then try to register. That gets on my nerves.

Eld. Hayesforth and I are going to Noble Valley to check out the convention center. We already placed a deposit on the site. We are going to see what they will need to do to accommodate everything that we need for the convocation.

I’ll write more later.
